Held in the HomeTeamNS Balestier JOM Clubhouse, CRS beneficiaries and their siblings exercised their creativity in a bento making workshop and made an assortment of shapes out of rice balls and seaweed with the help of volunteers. Their caregivers were also engaged in a similar workshop, but competed in teams to present the best bento and win prizes. Lunch was a busy affair, with families queuing up for their turn at the photo booth, children waiting for their turn at games and Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped Mobile Massage Team kneaded away at tensed up muscles.
This year for the first time, four caregivers were presented the Exemplary Caregiver Award 2015 by CRS Management Council President Dr Sashikumar, while 12 other caregivers were also awarded tokens of encouragement. They shared some of their experiences with the audience, and how they overcame these challenges in a sincere and frank dialogue. Rainbow children and youth at the same time created a trifle dessert which was presented to their caregivers as a surprise gift.
