Caregivers’ Appreciation Day is a day for the children at Club Rainbow (Singapore) to appreciate and thank their caregivers for their endless love and care. This year, Caregivers’ Appreciation Day was held at SAF Yacht Club (Changi Clubhouse). A total of 250 people turned up for the event.
Club Rainbow’s caregivers attended an enriching workshop conducted by Dr. Yap Swee Cheng from WINGS on How to Rediscover and Manage Yourselves. Through this workshop, the Rainbow caregivers were taught on how they can better manage their emotions. The workshop also provided them the opportunity to mingle and interact with other caregivers.
While the caregivers were engaged in their workshop, a special children’s programme was planned by a team of student volunteers from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The volunteers led the children in designing both a mug and a special thank you card for their beloved caregivers. In addition, the children also had a fun time participating in songs, games, and dances. Our Rainbow children even prepared a special dance item for their caregivers! At the end of their performances, each child presented their decorated mug and card to their caregivers.
Alex the Magician was also invited to entertain our families with his wacky magic cum puppet show. Apart from appreciating our caregivers, appreciation certificates were also awarded to our volunteer tutors to thank them for their time and dedication. The day ended off with a sumptuous buffet spread where everyone ate to their hearts’ content.
