Be part of a collaborative large-scale feature installation at Dreamseeds Arts Festival 2018 with local illustrator Darel Seow. Beneficiaries are invited to join Darel for a 4-day workshop programme to create their own unique marine creature inspired by their identities, interests and challenges, and then craft a short picture book and develop a narrative for their characters.
Artist collaborations this year will adopt a more inclusive structure that directly involves beneficiaries in the installation creation process – allowing greater interaction and conversations between engaged artists and participating beneficiaries. Participants will be coached towards creating works that reflect the resulting installations’ aesthetics and concept, learn more about production considerations artists face for large-scale projects, and have the opportunity to develop listening, critical thinking, writing skills, and visual communication skills.
