Talent Development (2014)

  • Asian Civilisations Museum Singapore (map)

Asian Civilisations Museum provided a heart-warming and cosy backdrop for the award ceremony, where a total of 30 beneficiaries received their grant award and certificate. 16 performers took the stage and swept the audience away with their dance and music recitals ranging from piano, guitar and even the Chinese string instrument, Liu Qin. For the other recipients who were aspiring athletes and artists, including a music producer, horse-riders, hand-cyclist and photographer, their talents were featured prominently in a video which was produced before the ceremony.

As many of the beneficiaries were amateurs performing on stage individually for the first time, a cellist volunteered to accompany them during their performances. This gave the kids a morale boost to perform onstage, and the cello’s mellow tunes were well-suited to the acoustics of the concert venue.

Other than monetary support for the beneficiaries to pursue their dreams, the award ceremony has given them the opportunity to build their self-esteem and confidence as they relished their moment to shine.
